| The Big Cat's: A Series |
| In the first section of this series the color is achieved through pyroengraving techniques. The only color added is in the cat's eyes. Eyes are so expressive. In the animal world, looking into anothers eyes is a signal, or a way to communicate. The eyes are the key to what is going on, they draw the observer into the composition. Note that the chipped carved area is not an enclosed circle, it is open. This symbolizes the idea that the 'Big Cat's' should not be caged, but left to be free in their natural habitat. Near the bottom of the page I have used acrylic paint for the cats, and the Lynx is done with colored pencil. I will be updating this page continually...so check back. Thanks. |
